What are our aims?
In geography we study the links between people and the environment. We look at how we can be good citizens of planet earth and take care of our surroundings. Foster an awareness and responsibility for the impact that human activity has on our environment both local and global, and to understand that there are consequences to our activities. To accept our role in the use and conservation of the earth's resources
What we do in KS3
Here is a selection of the topics covered in years 7,8 and 9....

- primary and secondary industry
- techtonic processes
- natural environments
- development and effects of tourism
As well as classrom work we organise several educational visits; Kew Gardens, Natural History Museum, the Emirates stadium.
What we do in KS4
Studying the OCR Geography A syllabus morocco study the following Units...
- Extreme environments
- You as a global citizen - the impact of our decisions
- Similarities and differences
- Issues in our fast changing world
To support these studies Morocco, the Sahara and the Atlas mountains are to be a destination for educational trips.

What we do in KS5
Students study the Edexcel Geography syllabus below is an overview of the topics involved...
AS
Unit 1: Global challenges; topics - World at risk, Going global
Unit 2: Geographical investigations; a range of Physical and Human topics.
A2
Unit 3: Contested planet; 6 compulsory topics.
Unit 4: Geographical research: study of 1 from a selection of topics

How is my work assessed?
KS3
Continually assessed throughout KS3 both formatively, during class and project work and summatively at appropriate points during subject work.
KS4
According to the OCR Geography A syllabus assessment is by coursework and final examination.
KS5
AS -
Unit 1: 1 hour paper 60% of AS marks, 30% of A2 marks.
Unit 2: 1 1/2 hour paper 40% of A2, 20% of A2 marks.
A2 -
Unit 3: 2 1/2 hour paper 60% AS, 30% of A2 marks.
Unit 4: 1 1/2 hour paper 40% AS, 20% of A2 marks.
