The sixth form…
There are several significant differences between year 11 and years 12 and 13 (Sixth Form). The number of subjects students take will be reduced. The teaching groups will be generally smaller and made up of fellow students who are also well motivated and who want to advance their education. Studying fewer subjects will mean that, for the first time, students will have some non-teaching lessons (non-contact periods). This time must be spent on private study. There is thus a degree of independence, which puts more responsibility on students.
Sixth Formers must remember that they are returning to school because they want to and therefore the school expects their attitude to reflect their wish to be here. A positive hard-working and conscientious attitude is an essential attribute, expected of all students.
Responsible Sixth Formers play an important role in the life and smooth running of the school. Any students joining the Sixth Form will be expected to set an example to younger students and contribute to the school experience of all.
