Welcome from the Headteacher
Raine’s Foundation school has reached its 300th Year of service to education. It’s long rich and unique history and heritage of successfully educating young men and women in East London is hard to surpass.
On the 8th May, it was wonderful to welcome members of the Raine’s community to St Paul’s Cathedral to take part in its tercentenary celebrations. At the reception, following the service, you were able to hear a host of fond reminiscences and stories of the many great achievements and successes that all share the common starting point of Raine’s.
Recently a period of unease has settled on the school as proposals around the future of the school were put forward. I would like to thank the school community for coming together at this unsettling time.
How people respond to challenge and change is often a test of their resolve and character. In this respect, the Raine’s community has not been found wanting.
I am very proud to now be able to lead the school through to the next chapter of its existence. Staff and students alike are resolved to build upon the excellent recent progress and we are looking forward to achieving the highest possible educational provision over the next year.
