2015 will be a very exciting year for Raine’s Foundation School as we expect to see significant improvements in our GCSE results.
In 2014 we were delighted to announce that two of our year 13 students gained places at Cambridge University. Joel Adams achieved 4 A*'s in Maths, Further maths, Economics and Psychology and Lana Crowe 4 A*'s in English literature, Philosophy, History, extended project and an A in Biology. Joel will read mathematics and Lana English.
Additional success came from Brandon Fletcher-James who is heading to Durham University to study Theology and Philosophy, Lan To has a place at Sussex to study Sociology and Harry Boran who got 3 A’s is taking a year off to get some experience before applying to study veterinary science. Last years A*-B A2 pass rate was 49% another increase for the fourth consecutive year. These results are due to the hard work of our pupils, the commitment of our staff and of course the support from family and friends.
Congratulations also goes to our year 11 pupils who have achieved some outstanding individual results.
60% of pupils achieved five or more GCSE grades A*-C and 45% achieved 5 or more A*-C including English and Maths (please go to ‘About us’ for more exam results information)
Teachers and pupils had to adjust to significant changes in GCSEs lasts year, especially the move from modular to end of year exams.
Although we saw a drop in GCSE results in 2014 I am confident that we will see significant improvements in 2015.
